If you have a claim, please take the following steps:
Do not move your vehicle unless directed to do so by authorities or for safety reasons. Take pictures with your cell phone if possible. Look around for witnesses, and get their name and phone number. Get as much information from the other driver as possible. Name, phone, Insurance Company, Policy Number, Agent’s Name and phone number. This will be on the police report, but it might not be available for a week.
Take the necessary steps to prevent further damage. Do NOT throw anything away until the adjuster has a chance to see it. We recommend using a professional to clean up water damage. They have fans and chemicals to deodorize and sanitize, and they know what the Insurance companies will pay. Keep in mind MOLD is EXCLUDED! It’s important to get moisture out of the drywall and other areas that may not be visible so you don’t have a worse problem later.
It is important to report your First Report of Injury within 24 hours of the incident. Please call your claim in to the Toll Free Number on your policy. Make sure you have the employee’s records before you call as they will need to know their rate of pay and work schedule. Prompt claim reporting results in a higher rate of employees returning to work faster.
